(I’m number 63)

Well, all I can say is I’m exhausted…

As some of you might have known, but I’ve been in Japan over the weekend for a lacrosse friendship league with Japanese high schools. I went as one of the representative of the Korean U-17 team. I was named captain of the team and as a leader, I tried my best to keep the team together.

We had 8 games for 3 straight days. On the first day, we arrived in Japan in the morning after a 2 hour flight. We headed straight for the field for 3 consecutive games. Back-to-back-to-back with 3 different schools. The first day was awful for us. We haven’t had plenty of sleep, we had jet lag and we weren’t used to the field. We only won one out of three games that day. The first game was with Kaijo High School (The team in blue), the second with Iwakura High School, and Sendai Ikuei High School for the third game. We only beat Sendai Ikuei High school but it turns out that they haven’t started playing lacrosse that long ago. They barely knew the basics of lacrosse.

I think it was better for us to have a bad result on the first day because that motivated us to work and play harder on the field for future games. We won every match on the following day. We went against teams that devoured us the previous day. The results were similar, only this day we were winning. We went against three teams (Iwakra, Sendai Ikuei and Waseda) but only gave them 2 goals in total. It was absolutely nerve racking.

The third day was the same. Two teams, we demolished both.

Overall, we won 6 out of 8 games. Not bad for a team that only practiced 3 times together.
